Did you know that my favorite subject to photograph is an expecting mother? I am so in love with bellies and maternity portraits. I am the person admiring your beautiful  belly in the grocery store.

Let me tell you a little story about how I came to LOVE maternity photography. When I was pregnant with my first daughter, we went to a 3d/4d ultrasound clinic in Hawaii to check the gender of the baby. When I walked into this place, the first thing I noticed was the variety of fine art maternity portraits hanging on the wall. I remember thinking that I was completely in love with the photos that I was seeing and I was inspired from that moment forward to take photos for other pregnant women. 8 years later I had a studio in First Glimpse Ultrasound of Colorado Springs and had my work displayed in the waiting area on the walls!  I don’t have my studio there anymore but part of my dream came true when I was able to display my work on those walls.  I think it is true honor to be a woman and be able to carry another life in my womb. I am very grateful for the experience and I want to be able to share that with other beautiful expecting mothers who feel the same way.

I would really love to photograph pregnant women full-time and my studio is perfect for the occasion. I am also looking for pregnant models for my belly/baby blessing ceremony. This is for open-minded women who are  wanting a more intimate experience. We will start with hair and makeup followed by a relaxing foot scrub and message to release tension in the body. After the customer is nice and relaxed we will do the belly/baby blessing. The mom will sit comfortably on a mat where me and my assistant will light some candles and incense. If the mother is comfortable with it, I will use some essential oils mixed with coconut oil to rub the belly lightly and send good intentions/energy to the mother and baby. We will have a nice blessing/prayer ready  for the mother. Once we do the belly blessing we will move on to the photos in the studio and have a grand time capturing the beautiful mother!

Below are some examples of recent maternity photos I have taken in the studio and outdoors.  If you know anyone interested in this type of session please send them to this blog.
